I started eating here years ago, but switched to a sister restaurant here in town. I am writing primarily to rave about the shrimp in garlic red sauce. I was unclear on what this would be, and the waitress accurately described it as a house made garlic sauce blended with their enchilada sauce. But it is so much more than the sum of the parts. It is an extraordinarily complex tasting sauce. Everything else also was very good: light crisp chips, bright tomato salsa; tender, juicy birria (in enchiladas and the quest birria tacos); shrimp enchiladas. Service was just right: attentive, timely, not intrusive. The interior has been renovated since I was there last. Fun, colorful artwork. Comfortable booths and tables. New table tops, black with blue flecks.
The food was really good - guac, queso and the trío fajitas! I admit I was very pleasantly surprised.
Came here yesterday with my 2 sisters for lunch and it was delicious! The shrimp cocktail is picture perfect but the taste is amazing! The shrimp were tender and the flavor of the cocktail was delicious! We also ordered the taquito appetizer and it was also very good! I will be back! Good service and great food! I highly recommend!
The food was on point! The carnitas were not too greasy and not too crispy, with a perfect balance of flavors! The torta had a nice amount of sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and beans. The taco salad was a large sized portion with a crispy flavorful shell. The taco that came with the kids meal was slightly on the greasy side, but delicious and crispy. The food was fresh and satisfying. The table was served two salsas, one was mild pico de gallo and the other medium spicy salsa! Both were delicious. The service was friendly despite the short wait to be seated. The waitress was attentive and polite. She checked on us an adequate amount of times to feel taken care of. The ambiance in the patio was pleasant. It was a hot day, but the fan above kept the air moving. The sun was shining so being outdoor even though it was a warm 85 outside felt right! This place was not too overcrowded even though it is near the Pine Knott village and on a weekend in summer, so it was really calming to be seated out on the patio to enjoy the day here!
Everything was delicious. We sat out on the patio with our dogs. They brought chips, salsa and waters out immediately. There are definitely no deals to be had here... nothing crazy upscale just upscale prices, however, it was a great little outdoor spot and we enjoyed what we ordered. At our table we got the chicken bowl, carne asada fries and something with shrimp but I can't remember the name. No complaints- we also enjoyed a beer and a pina colada.
One of the best Mexican food places in Big Bear. They have great outdoor seating. If it's too cold, the inside or bar should do you right! Service is also outstanding. They do not rush you or make you feel that you are a bother! They really do take care of you! Especially Levi, he is a rockstar! Keep up the great work!
Came in with a large party of 10 and were lucky to find a spot in Big Bear that could seat all of us together. Got seated quickly and started out with some beers and margaritas- the frozen mango margarita was delicious! Wait time for food was short and everyone was happy. I ordered the chicken taquitos, which were delicious and the perfect amount after the chips and margarita. Overall a great spot with authentic food, great service, and delicious drinks!
GREAT SERVICE AND GOOD MEXICAN FARE The restaurant is nicely appointed, with a patio, bar, and indoor dining areas. The food is not the best Mexican food around, but it is still quite good and filling. My friend ate ALL his Trio fajitas, and I ate most of the Chili Calarado. My friend said his Margarita was excellent, and I enjoyed my giant DosXX beer. The waitress was attentive and did not rush us. If you are in downtown Big Bear and are hankering for some decent Mexican fare, this is the place to go. We stopped in for lunch. We had taco salads. Hubs had carne asada and I had carnitas. Both were delicious. Lots of meat and very flavorful. It was quiet when we came in on Friday. Saturday night for dinner. Service was great the decor is really nice. We will definitely be back again.
